Pros of the Pros

Allen mentioned the Harvard Sailing Team, but I think it bears further mention of something pretty darn important.

HST was one of the professional groups at the festival, along with Derrick and UCB's touring company, but what made these guys special was their style: highly physical, almost frenetic surrealist sketches with some singin', some dancin', and some havin'-fun thrown in the pot.

We got to do a workshop with the Team, and what we came out with was a greater understanding of what it means to be a comedy group. Sure, we want to write in our own voice and keep the good ol' Skitso traditions alive, but there's also a life under those skits that we barely ever touch upon. HST's strength is their ability to explore that life and heighten their comedy with it. It's really something to behold, and we were pretty fortunate to get the opportunity to learn from their process.

Really all I'm trying to say is that, aside from a weekend of laughing and partying and hankering down, this festival really reminded us that we're not only a bunch of sillies sillying it up in Sillytown. We're artists, in our own silly way, and what better way to grow as artists than to take the risk of letting the art evolve? Sillily!

That's a good point, Zack.

Also, good hyperlinks.

perhaps instead of encouraging the evolution of our art we could encourage the evolution of our fart

also, if they check this out again i want to tell them something:
I have had "don't look back in anger" stuck in my head since sunday afternoon when i thought about your slowmotion sketch to end the show. i listened to the song about six times today and everytime i kept seeing you guys in slowmotion. creepy.
